Teaching Materials
Every summer David packs suitcases full of teaching materials to bring to the school. These include books, craft supplies, math manipulatives, alphabet charts, demonstration clocks, and basic school supplies (pencils, markers, whiteboards, etc.).
Construction Projects
Funds and donations from past years have been used to fix some of the school floors, mainly classrooms and kitchen area, and also to build a room next to the kitchen for staff to cook and store utensils.
Tutoring and English Teaching
While visiting, David works with the teachers in the elementary school to identify and work with students who need extra help. He supports teachers in grades K-5 working with small groups and on a one to one basis. An afterschool program to learn English is also offered in the afternoons. In the evenings, we also visit some families to follow up on instruction, meet the parents and offer additional support.
